Merchant House Bed & Breakfast: Thoughtful Stay in ScotlandAs a marine biologist who thrives on nature's beauty, I found Merchant House Bed & Breakfast a unique experience during my trip to Scotland. Located near a lovely park and a quaint harbor, it's an excellent choice for dog lovers, given its pet-friendly policy. The property itself is a charming listed building, well-kept with beautiful gardens, offering a peaceful backdrop to unwind. We stayed in a spacious basement room, which was quiet and had a close bathroom. Amenities included a flat-screen TV and a microwave, catering to a homely vibe for travelers who prefer some autonomy. While the unique nature of the building did present some quirks, such as low ceilings and the owner's insight into the use of upper floors, it adds character. The communal kitchen is available with cookware, though it would be advisable to clarify any kitchen rules with the owner, as I found out the hard way. With easy access to parking and a friendly staff dedicated to ensuring a comfortable stay, the Merchant House presents a worthwhile balance of comfort and value during your stay in Scotland. For the price, this experience juxtaposes luxury with practicality, making it a sensible choice for those exploring the area.
